Ingredients
You’ll need just a few simple ingredients to bring this recipe to life:
8 egg roll wrappers
1 (21 oz) can Lucky Leaf Caramel Apple Fruit Filling
Oil, for frying (vegetable or canola oil works best)
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Caramel sauce for dipping (optional but highly recommended)
Tip: If you can’t find caramel apple fruit filling, use regular apple pie filling and add a handful of soft caramel candies before rolling.
Directions
Step 1: Fill the Wrappers
Lay out an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface.
Spoon ¼ cup of the caramel apple filling into the center of each wrapper.
Fold according to the instructions on the egg roll package.
Use a beaten egg or water to seal the edges tightly. Set aside.
Step 2: Make Cinnamon Sugar Coating
In a shallow bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon.
Set aside to roll the fried egg rolls later.
Step 3: Heat the Oil
Pour 2-3 inches of oil into a heavy-bottomed pan or deep fryer.
Heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Test with a thermometer to ensure the right temperature for perfectly crispy results.
Step 4: Fry the Egg Rolls
Fry 2-3 egg rolls at a time to avoid overcrowding.
Turn occasionally for even browning, cooking for about 2-3 minutes or until golden and crispy.
Remove with tongs and let excess oil drip off.
Step 5: Coat in Cinnamon Sugar
While still warm, roll each egg roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to cool slightly.
Step 6: Serve and Enjoy
Serve the egg rolls warm with caramel sauce for dipping.
For an extra treat, pair with vanilla ice cream and drizzle more caramel on top.
