Ingredients
1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
3–4 tbsp fresh lemon juice (1 large lemon)
1 tsp lemon zest
3–4 cloves garlic, finely minced or grated
1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped (optional but recommended)
1 tsp dried oregano (or 1 tbsp fresh)
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional for a little heat)
1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
1/4 tsp black pepper
Optional: 1 tsp honey (helps balance acidity, great for salads)
Instructions
1. Prepare the base
In a small bowl or jar, add:
Olive oil
Lemon juice
Lemon zest
Whisk lightly.
2. Add aromatics
Stir in:
Minced garlic
Parsley
Basil
Oregano
Red pepper flakes
Salt & pepper
Mix well until fully combined.
3. Taste and adjust
Add more lemon for extra tang.
Add more olive oil for smoother, milder flavor.
Add honey if using for salads to balance acidity.
4. Rest for best flavor
Let it sit for 10–15 minutes so the garlic and herbs infuse into the oil and lemon.
