Apple Crumb Bars

 


Ingredients:

For the Crust and Topping:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
1 large egg
For the Filling:
5 cups peeled, diced apples
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions:

Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch pan.
Make the Crust: Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon. Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in the egg. Press half into the pan.
Add the Filling: Toss apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread over the crust.
Add Topping: Crumble the remaining crust mixture over the apples.
Bake: Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until golden. Cool before slicing.
