Sweet Alabama Pecan Bread
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Whisk melted butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Mix in buttermilk until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture just until combined.
- Stir in chopped pecans.
- Pour into loaf pan and bake 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool 10 minutes, then move to a rack to cool completely.
