Ingredients:
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
Instructions:
1. Pour the sweetened condensed milk into a large, heatproof glass jar or bowl.
2. Seal the jar or bowl tightly with a lid or aluminum foil.
3. Place the sealed container in a large pot and fill the pot with enough water to completely submerge the jar or bowl.
4. Bring the water to a gentle boil over medium heat.
5. Reduce the heat to low and let the water simmer for 2 to 3 hours, making sure to add more water to the pot as needed to keep the jar or bowl submerged.
6. After 2 to 3 hours, carefully remove the jar or bowl from the pot and let it cool to room temperature.
7. Once cooled, open the jar or bowl, and you'll find that the sweetened condensed milk has transformed into creamy, caramelized dulce de leche.
8. Use it as a topping for desserts, spread it on toast, or enjoy it straight from the jar with a spoon!
Remember to be cautious when handling hot water and hot jars or bowls. Enjoy your homemade dulce de leche!
