Stuffed with cheese and sausage



- 16 large mushrooms, cleaned and stems removed

- 1/2 pound Italian sausage, casing removed

- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

- 1/4 cup chopped onion

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

- Olive oil for drizzling


1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. In a skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and cooked through. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

3. In a bowl, combine the cooked sausage, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

4. Stuff each mushroom cap with the sausage mixture, pressing gently to pack it in.

5. Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the tops of the stuffed mushrooms.

7. Drizzle a little olive oil over the mushrooms.

8. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

9. Serve warm and enjoy!
