1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a cheddar blend)
1/2 cup milk
2 large eggs
1/2 cup baking mix (e.g., Bisquick)
1 Tbsp ketchup or mustard (optional, for extra burger flavor)
Pickle slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat: Heat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch pie plate.
Cook beef: In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown ground beef with onion (5–7 minutes). Drain excess fat. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Spread evenly in the prepared pie plate.
Add cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar evenly over the beef.
Mix the batter: In a bowl, whisk milk, eggs, and baking mix until smooth. (Whisk in ketchup or mustard if using.) Pour evenly over beef and cheese.
Bake: Bake 25–30 minutes, until golden and set in the center (a knife inserted near the center should come out clean).
Serve: Cool 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with ketchup, mustard, and pickle slices if desired.
