Ingredients

  • 1 can (20 oz / 560 g) crushed pineapple, undrained
  • ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs, beaten
  • 5 slices white bread, cubed (about 2½ cups)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or a similar-sized casserole dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed pineapple with its juice, melted butter, sugar, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract.
  3. Stir the mixture until smooth and evenly blended.
  4. Gently fold in the bread cubes, making sure all pieces are well coated with the pineapple mixture.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow the dish to rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
