Ingredients
- 1 can (20 oz / 560 g) crushed pineapple, undrained
- ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs, beaten
- 5 slices white bread, cubed (about 2½ cups)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or a similar-sized casserole dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed pineapple with its juice, melted butter, sugar, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Stir the mixture until smooth and evenly blended.
- Gently fold in the bread cubes, making sure all pieces are well coated with the pineapple mixture.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
- Remove from the oven and allow the dish to rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
