Ingredients:
2 cups frozen tater tots (thawed)
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 slices crispy bacon (crumbled)
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (optional, for binding)
1 egg (lightly beaten)
½ cup panko breadcrumbs (for extra crunch)
Oil for frying (or baking alternative)
Instructions:
Mash the Tots
Place the thawed tater tots in a bowl and mash them with a fork or potato masher.
Mix the Filling
Add shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, and flour. Mix well.
Form the Tots
Scoop about a tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into a small cylinder or ball.
Repeat until all the mixture is used.
Coat the Tots
Dip each tot into the beaten egg, then roll in panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
Fry or Bake
Frying: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry the tots until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels.
Baking: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C), place tots on a baking sheet, and bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Serve Hot
Enjoy with dipping sauces like ranch, sour cream, or spicy mayo!
Would you try this with any extra ingredients, maybe jalapeños for heat?
