Ingredients
1 cup water
1 medium red onion, chopped (natural expectorant and antimicrobial)
1–2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated (anti-inflammatory and immune-supporting)
2–3 cloves garlic, crushed (natural antibiotic and antiviral)
Juice of 1 lemon (vitamin C and antioxidant)
1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper or a small chili (loosens mucus, stimulates circulation)
2 tablespoons raw honey (soothes throat, antimicrobial)
Optional: 1/4 teaspoon turmeric (anti-inflammatory)
Instructions
Boil & Simmer Base:
In a small saucepan, add water, onion, ginger, garlic, cayenne, and turmeric (if using).
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 20–30 minutes, until reduced by about half.
Strain:
Let cool slightly, then strain the liquid into a clean jar or glass container using a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth.
Add Lemon & Honey:
Once warm (not hot), stir in the lemon juice and raw honey.
Mix well until fully combined.
Store:
Keep in a sealed jar in the refrigerator.
Shake well before each use.
